What kind
of law firm is Baily Gibson?
Baily Gibson was established in c1875. We are a medium-sized
successful high-street practice who pride ourselves on assisting the
community in many areas of law. Solicitors from our offices in
Beaconsfield and High Wycombe each specialise in a particular area of
law, but our real strength derives from their combined experience. We
are proud of our comprehensive range of specialist legal services
tailored to the needs of individual clients.
Why do I need a Solicitor?
It may be possible for you to handle certain areas of law yourself
providing there are no complications. However, it is almost always
better to instruct a Solicitor to handle a legal problem or dispute.
Many areas of law are very complex and with a mass of new laws being
introduced every year, extensive knowledge which cannot be learned
quickly is required. The situation may be traumatic or emotions may be
running high and your Solicitor can assist you to achieve an objective
resolution. We can help in providing you with the right advice.
Why use Baily Gibson?
Our three main aims are always to satisfy your legal needs expertly,
represent your interests effectively, and provide advice that is both
sympathetic and objective.
What are our areas of expertise?
To provide exceptional legal advice, our Solicitors specialise in their
chosen field of law. Please refer to our 'Legal Services' section on the
homepage of our website for details of those areas upon which we are
able to provide advice and assistance.
I need advice. Who should I speak to first?
If you are an existing client of the firm we would suggest you first
telephone the Solicitor who you have had dealings with previously - they
will then be able to take a few details of your query and be able to
provide the name of their colleague who will be able to assist you.
If you are a new client of the firm our Receptionist will take brief
details regarding the advice you require and then transfer you to the
relevant department. Remember, taking legal advice early before
positions become entrenched or action has already been taken to your
disadvantage almost always benefits you.
How do I know what it is going to cost?
So far as it is possible we will let you know how much a matter is going
to cost but it is very difficult to give accurate estimates over the
phone. We therefore provide an estimate of costs once we have more
information on what the matter is going to entail. We will provide you
with a time estimate of how long it is likely to take to conclude your
matter, will outline our hourly charging rates, and confirm these
details and more in our Terms of Engagement.
I am unable to visit your offices. Do you
provide home visits?
We do provide home visits for those who are unable to travel to either
of our offices although a charge may be made for the costs incurred of
doing so.
Is Legal Aid available?
Depending on the type of matter involved and your available finances,
Legal Aid may be available. If you would like to discuss this issue, you
must raise this at the outset with your Solicitor who will be able to
advise you before any work is carried out.
